Okay, so I've never claimed to be super **crafty**....but after many hours on Pinterest, I decided to give this DIY Sunburst mirror a try. I've seen the real version of this mirror at HomeGoods, but its $150+. Ain't nobody got dollars for that (or at least I don't).
Here is the Pinterest pic I came across....
So I used her tutorial (Found HERE) and decided to give it a shot.
As the tutorial stated, I would need 2.5' x 4' pieces of wood, with 2' x 3' wood tags to glue on top of them for depth. So I went to Home Depot and had them cut the wood pieces to size. Then purchased the tags at Michaels. I also spray painted the pieces a copper/gold color.
I then glued the 2' x 3' mirrors from Hobby Lobby onto those wood pieces.
Next, I spray painted the 14' embroidery hoop from Michaels onto the 14' mirror (also from Michaels) and glued the smaller mirror pieces to the exterior. NOTE: ***Lesson learned: Use a HOT GLUE GUN. I tried both guerrilla glue and super glue, but none held as well as hot glue.
And there you have it. I still need to mount a hanger on the back to add to the wall, but I was too excited to wait and get this blog up. If you try it, let me know and send pics!!! :)
